My mission is to help as many people as possible to be able to experience the dream of home ownership.

My name is Linda McCoy and I am the owner of Mortgage Team 1, Inc. I have been in the mortgage business since 1994. I hold the honor of serving as the 2010 President of Alabama Mortgage Brokers Association. I have an ARML (Alabama Residential Mortgage Lending Designation), which is a professional recognition of excellence. I am also a member of NMBA (National Mortgage Broker Association). I have lobbied in the United State Legislature and the State of Alabama State Legislature for Mortgage Brokers and their profession. I have been involved in BNI (Business Network Incorporated) since 1998. I graduated, with honors from Delta State University in 1992 with a BS in Social Sciences with a prelaw designation.

I am a trained instructor for Alabama State Banking Law courses, licensed instructor for NMLS Mortgage Education Foundation courses for the 20 hour licensing for mortgage brokers and loan officers, instructor for Reverse Mortgages, and financial courses for Realtors.

Mortgage Team 1, Inc. and my loan officers are all Licensed by the Federal government through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry.  They also are Licensed by the State of Alabama.  To be a licensed Loan Officer or Loan Originator, you have to have 20 hours of pre-licensing education which includes at least 3 hours of Federal law and Regulations, 3 hours of Ethics, which shall include instruction on fraud, consumer protection and fair lending issues; and 2 hours of non traditional mortgage product training plus 12 more mortgage origination classes; a back ground check, to prove they have never been convicted of a crime; have a credit check to make sure they are responsible citizens and know how to handle their own finances; pass a 100 question Federal Exam and a 55 question State Exam, take 8 hours of continuing education courses after they pass their exams; and have to be bonded for at least $25,000.  The originators have a Unique Identifier number that will be connected to all of their loan origination activities including loan applications and any forms of advertisement.  When you are dealing with a licensed loan officer with Mortgage Team 1, Inc. you can be sure you are dealing with a professional.  My team has the knowledge and experience to help you through the loan process.  We are The Mortgage Team for Excellence!!!!

Brian and I are graduates of XINNIX MORTGAGE ACADEMY and have dedicated ourselves to providing an experience that everyone purchasing or refinancing a home should receive. We moved back home from Atlanta, Georgia to work with our family at Mortgage Team 1, Inc. While in Atlanta, we worked for one of the nation's top lenders in the mortgage industry. Our mission is to bring a sense of excellence to the Alabama mortgage industries by utilizing our comprehensive product knowledge and providing each customer with solutions to their home buying needs. Brian and I are dedicated and will provide each customer with 100% of their efforts. We will make sure that our customers receive an ethical, honest, and informative process that they will be excited to share with their friends.

Successful completion of more than 90 courses, 400 hours of training, and a rigorous four hour certification exam is required to earn the XCO designation from XINNIX, the nation's premier mortgage academy. Combined with a pledge to ethical customer service, an XCO ensures clients will receive valuable, professional advice. Doing business with an XCO ensures clients receive professional, skilled and valuable financial advice not easily found in the mortgage industry. The XCO certification training and personal commitment to serving clients is unmatched in the industry. I am an instructor for Realtors on mortgage financing. I have also been involved in BNI (Business Network International) since 2004. I graduated in 1997 with a BS in Accounting from the University of South Alabama.
